The forces were quickly wiped out by another Emission and the Zone was sealed off for safety. A joint operation between Duty and Ukrainian army forces mounted an assault towards the center of the Zone, the Chernobyl nuclear plant, with the intention to destroy whatever source of these Anomalies may be with the use of nuclear weapons.
